Our Story

It all started when we left the corporate world and embarked on our own journey. We wanted to discover everything we could about making sourdough pizza—and we did! This led us to open East Pizzas in October 2017.

It certainly didn’t start off with bright blue skies, but we quickly learnt something that we knew would carry our passion into the future with us—we love sourdough! Most will know how difficult it is to master sourdough recipes, but we kept trying day in and day out until we got it just right.

Then the pandemic hit, and we saw people investing back into life’s simple pleasers….including making homemade pizzas! Everyone wanted to get their hands on top-quality dough for home cooking, so we began to provide just that.

A few years later, here we are! Providing damn good sourdough dough balls, pre-made bases and pre-topped pizzas to our lovely customers and filling their kitchens with delicious, homemade pizzas! These are amazing! Honestly, it’s like eating a posh pizza abroad! I have recommended them to EVERYBODY, including all my pupils(I’m a driving instructor). Everytime I order I pass one on to a friend or family member to try. I should be on commission 🤣🤣🥰. So glad I found you, I’m never buying takeaway or frozen pizza again. I have one drawer in my freezer designated to these bases. I used the last three last night, so am about to order another 10.

Made a Ham & Pineapple for the wife (I know don’t judge, she likes the sweetness!!!) and I had a spicy pepperoni with anchovies, with homemade tomato sauce and your sourdough pizza bases. Delicioso 🤌🏻
Pizza base was fabulous
Not getting a great rise out of this dough. Admittedly, the first time we used the dough we cooked it on our usual pizza oven settings (370degrees) and it got no rise whatsoever and went in the bin. For my second attempt, I tried following the instructions to the letter and whilst it has a bit of rise it was still a lot more dense than I was expecting. The third attempt I lowered the temperature a bit and kept it in for longer which has resulted in something marginally better than my second attempt but still not great. Maybe I’ve got a bad batch?
Made my own chicken Tikka and used cured meats and two cheeses your amazing pizza bases made our fakeaway night the best so far thank you what a product
The bases arrived totally squashed and weren’t packaged well at all they were just thrown together with no divider or anything. The box was really flimsy aswell. I did email in to give some feedback but wasn’t offered anything in return, not even a discount on any future products so I probably won’t use again. Thanks

The courier left the package in direct sunlight when there were other options available. The response I received from you was slightly disappointing. You said well they’re fine kept at room temperature for 3 days! The package was left in direct sunshine for over 3 hours totally unacceptable. We are looking at alternative suppliers which is a shame as we do love your bases but feel this hasn’t been handled as we would’ve expected

The product arrived as promised, albeit with no instructions. My email re cooking was answered promptly, and together with advice from online sources (ie Google) the process was dead easy. We produced 17 pizzas 🍕in 90 minutes for a village social function and the feedback was 100% positive. We’ll definitely source from here next time!❤️❤️❤️
This was my first attempt at making pizza using raw dough and me and my family were very impressed with the results. "Best pizza ever!" according to my 4 year old grand daughter, and who am I to argue :-) When I need more, I will be buy again without hesitation.
Such fun building our own pizzas at home. Great bases and really quick to cook in our home oven. They tasted amazing. It would have been good if the crusts were a little softer after cooking. And a tad better packaged. As I think some air getting to them in transit could have impacted the crusts. They arrived not fully protected. Other than that fantastic bases and we will be re ordering

Great ready made bases, so easy to make and they were delicious too, no brainer, no fuffing around with flour and trying to roll out the dough, just open the packet, fill with your favourite base and put the ingredients on and put it in my pizza oven on my bar b q, 5 minus done to perfection! How long will my dough stay fresh?
The dough will stay fresh for three days in the fridge or up to three months in the freezer. The bases will also stay fresh for three days, or for three months in the freezer.

How long should I cook my pizza for?
If you're cooking your pizza in a pizza oven, please follow the instructions of your specific pizza oven as these can vary.
If you're cooking your pizza in a normal oven, we suggest popping it up to 220°C for ten minutes.
If you're cooking your pizza in a cast iron pan, the cooking time will vary depending on heat -
Where do you source your ingredients?
Our dough is as natural as possible, and made with flour, water, and a pinch of salt. We use flour that has been milled in the UK, and Scottish water. The provenance of our other products can be found in the
description of each product. Our aim is to bring you the best Scottish and pizza products. -
How long will my dough take to be delivered?
We aim to dispatch orders within 2–3 working days. Delivery timing after dispatch depends on your address and the courier. Please check the product page for anything specific to that item.
